Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Cool Symbol (“we”, “us”) treats information when you visit coolsymbol.app. The site is a free Unicode symbol and emoji copy tool. You do not create an account to use it. Please read this page in full so you know what happens in your browser, on our web host, and with optional analytics or ads.
Who we are and how to reach us
The public contact address for privacy questions is [email protected]. We reply by email. We do not operate a telephone helpdesk or in-app chat.
What this website does with your text
When you type in search or tap a symbol, the conversion and copy steps run in your browser. We do not save a personal “history” of the characters you copied, and we do not ask you to paste private passwords into this tool. Do not paste secrets into search; treat this site like any public webpage.
Server logs and security
Like almost every website, the hosting company records technical logs so the server can run: the time of a request, the page address, your IP address, and a short description of the browser. These logs exist to find attacks, fix downtime, and measure load. They are not used to build a marketing profile of which symbols you like. We keep logs only as long as the host’s normal retention (usually weeks or a few months), then they rotate away.
Cookies and WordPress
If you only copy symbols as a visitor, the core tool does not require cookies. WordPress may set cookies if you log in as an administrator, comment (if comments are ever enabled), or if a plugin you install later needs them. You can block cookies in your browser; the copy buttons will still work.
Analytics and advertising
The theme can load a privacy-oriented analytics script (for example a self-hosted stats host) and Google AdSense if the site owner fills those fields in the WordPress Customizer. Those third parties have their own privacy policies. Ads may use cookies or similar storage to limit how often you see the same advert. If you want a site with no third-party scripts, the owner can leave those Customizer fields empty.
Children
This is a general-audience utility. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children to create accounts, because there are no visitor accounts. Parents who have a privacy concern should email us at the address above.
Your rights and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what data we hold, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. For a copy-paste website we typically hold little or nothing that identifies you beyond a server log. Write to us and we will explain what we can see and what we cannot (for example we cannot retrieve a symbol you copied last week, because we never stored it).
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or the law changes. The date in the site footer shows the current year of the site. Continued use after a change means you have had a chance to read the new text. If a change is major, we will try to make the new wording obvious on this page.
